In summertime I often hear "how can you be inside sewing when the sun is shining?" The truth is I always sew; I sew when I get a new idea and I don't care if it’s a sunny or rainy day! But maybe that's just me...
Here’s what I have been sewing lately:
My younger brother celebrated his birthday and I knew he wanted a cover for his Ipad. So on the morning of the party I got an idea and started to sew. I had some leather that I found at a thrift shop (just love those places) and I adapted the design to the rough edges of the leather. It was an hour of creativity and it turned out really nice. My brother was happy!
I made the pillow with cross stitch roses, but my idea was for a dress, not unexpected :) I made this dress from a Burda pattern found here. It is made in a cotton satin and I really like the pocket detail.
My latest project is a top with an asymmetric hem. I actually cut it in April but kind of forgot about it until now. I usually don’t take the time to create patterns from scratch, but this time I did. I need to do it more often, because it’s so much fun.
What have you been creating?
